Hello,
I hope this finds you well! I'm writing to report from an intense and exciting first session on the Co-position research thread. We were generously hosted by Baltan Laboratories in Eindhoven (NL) as part of their Tools Series. At the end of the day we presented the LGRU-project to a group of designers and artists, and enjoyed their enthusiast response. Here are some of our notes: http://ospublish.constantvzw.org/lab/wiki/index.php/Co-positioning and presentation slides: http://blogs.lgru.net/ft/wp-content/uploads/LGRU.pdf
WORM is busy finishing the general LGRU-site @ http://lgru.net. As soon as this is finished, we'll need to see what to do about the wiki that is still here: http://ospublish.constantvzw.org/lab -- it might be useful to move it into lgru.net as well.
In the mean time, Constant has installed a blog http://blogs.lgru.net/ft plus the latest version of Active Archives. Active Archives is a very special ;-) wiki system that we will use for the preparatory research for the LGRU publication/Reader, amongst many other things: http://aa.lgru.net
In September, the Worm-team visited Brussels and it looks like Walter is preparing us an interesting concoction for the upcoming Networked Graphics research meeting (7-10 December). Just as a reminder, here are some of his earlier notes: http://lgru.pad.constantvzw.org:8000/17
If you have questions about the practical side of this (travel, stay, visa etc.), please contact Katelyn from Worm: <katelyn(a)worm.org>
We also started a list of people involved in LGRU, including small 'job descriptions'. Have a look if we have understood correctly who's who? http://lgru.pad.constantvzw.org:8000/18
As for our changed budget and list of activities we had no official response yet from the EACEA but we'll keep you informed. No news is good news, we assume.
With both Aymeric (Networked Media) and Alexandre (CREATE) I exchanged e-mails last week about 'their role as associates'. Maybe this is useful for all of you, but if you have additional questions, please ask:
"Associates are invited to participate with one person in each of the research meetings. We expect you to participate the discussions and worksessions, give critical feedback and eventually present related research/projects. We assume you are already networked with designers, artists, developers, students and will make useful connections based on your experiences in the meetings; for example by writing or teaching about it, testing research ideas out in practice, discuss them with your colleagues. Host organisations have budgeted a small fee plus a perdiem, travel and lodging for each associate participant."
All the best,
Femke
